What is the purpose of the Self-Matching feature?

Mentessa's self-matching feature is the easiest way possible to request a match for mentoring, collaboration, feedback, a podcast or anything else. It is your flexibility guarantee, so that you can act independently and find the right expert at the right time - all by yourself. While Mentessa offer's various options for automated matching, program-based or AI-driven, we self-matching is an alternative for when you need to find a peer fast - for mentoring, collaboration, feedback, a podcast or anything else.

The ability for flexibly initiating informal collaboration is important because oftentimes people simply know best what they need and with whom they want to be matched. It provides a valuable opportunity for independent feedback and personal development. Self-matching also supports users with keeping up to speed in a rapidly changing world where problems need to be addressed more urgently. This feature can be used flexibly and according to one’s own needs on top of an admin-managed program for learning, but also between different initiatives.

How does Mentessa's Self-Matching feature work?

You will find the Self-Matching feature in the upper right in the profile section.

Self-Matching is the most efficient way to find the right peer at the right time - independently.

From the extended profile of the selected person, you can request collaboration with one click through “Request Match” on the top right of the profile view. Before submitting the request, you are asked to provide details about your expectations (e.g. mentoring, feedback, brainstorming).

Click the button "Request Match" to open the Self-Matching feature.

The request triggers an email to your potential partner who can accept or decline it. Accepting the match request also triggers a notification email and a collaboration board for both matched persons is created in your session tab for tracking goals and upcoming sessions.

That's it!

In a nutshell

1. Research relevant skills and find the right expert by using the filters

  1. Open the profile to learn more
  2. Select the "Request match" button on the top right
  3. (Optionally) Indicate the purpose of the match
  4. Wait for them to Accept to start collaborating

Enjoy!
